He became the first player in team history to finish with at least 25 points, 10. In the fifth game of the series, Kevin Durant scored 39 points with three rebounds and five assists and led his team to victory. Golden State was the top scorer in each game of the Kevin Finals. He was later named NBA Finals MVP.

Kevin was injured in a game with the New Orleans Pelicans and had to sit out for four games.Returning from injury on March 3, Kevin faced defeat against the Miami Heat. He scored 31 points in this game.On April 12, Kevin had 25 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists in a 115–108 win over the Cavaliers.On 26 January2023 , Kevin was named an Eastern Conference starter for the 2023 NBA all star game which was his 13th overall selection and 11th selection as a starter
